OUR MISSION
The mission of St. Joseph's Academy is to challenge each student to achieve academic excellence and to live the Gospel message in the school, the community and the world.
We welcome families of all faiths and believe that every child is a child of God and deserves the opportunity to learn in a faith-filled Christian environment like SJA. We provide an educational environment rooted in Catholic Christian values and tradition. We are committed to sharing in a life of faith and service. The administration, faculty, staff, and parents of SJA partner to nurture and promote Catholic values from Pre-K through 8th grade. Our Catholic identity flows through the school's philosophy, educational environment, and mission. At SJA, our catholic identity is the most vital aspect our children's education and serves as the beacon of light that guides us in our choices and challenges us to live the Gospel message in the school, the community and the world.
Service is an important part of our mission. Our middle school students are required to give service hours within our school community and to the Lakeland-area community. All students throughout the school year are encouraged to participate in service projects and donate items requested by local charities and for those in need.
SPORTS/EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Our sports program, for grades 5-8, includes soccer, volleyball, basketball, and flag football. We offer after school clubs for students of all ages; knitting, running, chess, German, Spanish, aerobics, and more. Our students participate in National Junior Honor Society and Student Council.
