School Board President's Message

The St.Joseph's Academy school board acts primarily as an advisory body at St.Joseph's Academy and is subject to such regulations that proceed from the Diocese of Orlando Board of Education. The educational ministry of the Orlando Diocese has as its primary goal, the on-going formation of the Christian person, which is a life-long process.

The duties of the St. Joseph's Academy Board include, but are not limited to the following:

• Review and make recommendations to the Principal concerning the coordinating of parochial educational activities. 
• Act as a liaison with appropriate public authority. 
• Seek a better understanding and wider support of Catholic education within the local community.
• Interpret policies of the Diocesan School Board for the local administrative officers and in matters wherein the Diocesan School Board has not promulgated policies, creating such policies under which administration shall operate.
• Determine whether policies are being carried out according to the will of the Diocesan School Board.
• Evaluate the adequacy of its policies and the effectiveness of their implementation.
• Review local policies relating to the planning,operating and maintenance of facilities and equipment, then make recommendations to the Principal and Pastor.
• The review of an annual budget prepared by the Principal and prior to the final approval of the Pastor and securing adherence to the budget.

Our mission in the coming year is to set forth specific and measurable goals and objectives for the improvement and maintenance of our school, as approved by our Principal, Pastor, and the Diocese of Orlando Board of Education. We look forward to working with our church and school community to achieve these goals and objectives.
