Deena graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's Degree in Education and a specialization in Reading. After teaching 2nd grade for a short time she began working at the Sylvan Learning Center in Lakeland, Florida. She was a Center Director for seven years , overseeing all student assessments, teaching, instructor training and meetings with parents and schools in order to develop individualized plans for each child. She spent another two years as a District Manager for Sylvan, where she was responsible for all operations, training and programs for multiple locations. In 2007 Deena moved on to YoungBiz Florida where she was an Operations Officer & Master Trainer with the company. This is Deena's 5th year at St. Joseph's and she is currently teaching language arts, math and business classes. She is married to Andrew who is also a teacher at Summerlin Military Academy in Bartow and they have two young sons.

She's currently a member of National Association for Gifted Children,International Reading Association and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
