Welcome
To St. Joseph Parish School
WELCOME to the website for St. Joseph Parish
School. At this site you will find pertinent
information about our school. Its purpose
is to offer information to parents and visitors
about the policies and procedures, to provide
access to current school news and to link parents
via e-mail to teachers and staff.
St. Joseph School,
located in the revitalizing area of downtown
Lakeland, is a small, family-oriented Catholic
School with an enrollment of about 200 students
in Grades PK-8. Our small size
enables us to know each student and to offer
a more personalized educational environment.
Our
faculty and staff of 30 are highly competent
and dedicated to providing a nurturing setting
for the students to learn. The students'
course of study includes religion, language arts,
math, science, social studies and Spanish. The
core curriculum is enhanced with classes in art,
library skills, music, physical education and
technology. An extended day program provides
supervision for working parents from 7 a.m. until
6 p.m. Various sports teams and clubs round
out the educational program.
Our parents volunteer
many hours each school year, serving on the School
Board and PTO. Together
with many parishioners, they work tirelessly
for the support of our school.
Fr. John Caulfield,
Pastor of St. Joseph Church is an active participant
in the weekly children's liturgies that are prepared
by the different classes. The prayer he has taught us "Jesus,
I trust in you" serves as an overall theme of
the school.
Sincerely,
Robert F. Kenel
Principal
